A twice-captured Squirrel

Among our several coming soon releases is also the 1/72 SH72485 Tachikawa Ki-54 Hickory ‘Captured and Post War Service’ kit. The decal sheet caters for a-US operated machine captured in the Philippines, re-painted and named Lemon, a French owned Ki-54 that flew transport duties in French Indochina (Vietnam these days) and the third option is a machine with the markings of the communist North Korea regime. This ono, wearing a squirrel emblem on its tail, had been taken from the defeated Japanese Army and as the Koreans themselves did not do any better as the UN troops, or to be more precise the Americans, re-captured the machine too during one of the Korea war offensives.

Dear business friends,     February is over, March is here and with it also comes our third newsletter of the year. If I can look back on February, it was quite atypical. While it wasn't snowing here in the Czech Republic, Russian fighter bombers were falling down over Ukraine. As a skiing lover, I hope for winters full of snow. I also hope for a sky without Russian bombers over Ukraine. It would certainly be better if people in Ukraine could live in peace without Russian bombs and missiles. And also make models. Like ICM for example. Last month we offered you an interior set for the 1/35 AH-1G Cobra helicopter model kit by this company. Dear business friends,      The Nuremberg fair is over now. Despite some chaos in the organisation before the start of the fair, we can say we are quite satisfied with our participation and the fair itself. Compared to last year, the first post-covid year, the exhibitors were much more plentiful this year. Many more traders and distributors also arrived at the meeting. So we practically did not have the chance to stop for a while. This, of course, filled us with optimism as it was nice to meet you all in person. When I write about personal meetings, I was most impressed by meetings with colleagues from Ukrainian companies. War is terrible. It's one thing to watch it from the comfort of your home on TV news, and another to hear about personal experience with Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets.
