Using our 1/72  SH72487 Meteor TT. Mk.20  kit, Lukas Mekina of Hradec Kralove plastic modelling club has very nicely indeed built this model in the scheme of FAA / Royal Navy. Our huge thank you goes to Petr Vitek from Plastic Planet magazine. To go with these photos, allow me to also mention some available accessory sets that have been out of prod for some time. They are as follows:  - pre-coloured etched sets  K72002 for  Breda 88  model,  K72012  for  Meteor Mk.4 ,  K72028  for  AH-1G and   K72027 ,   K72029  etches for Vampire models

Sadly Martin did not finish his TT.20 Meteor build (kit  SH72487 ) in time for the Nuremberg Toy Fair, yet he did very nice job with the model as you can see now. The kit is based on the NF Mk.11 release with addition of the version specific parts that are 3D printed, these are the winch itself and the associated controls in the rear cockpit area.

The Meteor TT.20 is a very good example of a fine aircraft that while it got obsolete in its original role, still kept serving in another. Our way to make this TT.20 version mimics that of the English Electric/Gloster manufacturers as we took the existing Mk.11 Meteor and coupled it with a winch mechanism. And we also need to say very big thank you to one of our colleagues in the UK who very kindly shared with us many many detailed photographs that enabled us to portray both the cockpit and the airframe differences, making this kit our best target tug model so far. Need to mention here that the winch and other conversion parts were made on a 3D printer for the best possible surface detail quality.

 Standa Hájek is back again with this stunning Meteor boxart for the 1/72 TT.20 release. And if you are about to say something not very nice about the shade of that yellowish colour, please send your comments to the Royal Navy, they required that Saturn Yellow on these machines. :-)

Thanks to the help of our very kind British fellow modeller and avid aviation historian, we have been able to get rid of some of our mistakes in the Meteor TT.20 schemes. While the aiframes A to C needed only very few alterations, the D scheme was changed completely. The overal aluminium paint we had it at first was wrong as the plane had never flown in it, having received it only in (vain) anticipation of a sale overseas. And as there were fears these Meteors might end up in then rather hot Biafra, the sale never materialized...
