 The small parts mould of the 1/48 scale Buggati Racer has been test fitted to the injection machine. And the outcome is quite good, considering it is the very first test shot. Some modifications to the mould have to be made of course, the prop blades suffer from undershot while some other parts have flashes on them. Nothing that could not get fixed, really. The snap below is taken just with my mobile as our photo guy is on a holiday tday. A.R.

The Special Hobby team are working hard on many new models for you, one of them also being the 1/48 SH48219 Bugatti 100 Racer. While all the needed clear parts sprues are already made, the major parts sprue has been now tested and we are happy to share it with you today....

   In 1940, the Bugatti 100 broke the speed record as well as it won the Thompson Trophy, the most famous of American speed races, leaving all rival machines far, far behind. For the race, the previously all-blue Bugatti was re-painted in the French flag colours.    Well, nothing of this is obviously true, just a 'what-if' sort of game. However, the truth is that the Bugatti model ( SH72457 ) wearing this colourful livery is a very eye-catching subject. The 1/72 model of the Bugatti 100 racer and high speed was among our new releases this January. Now, in the very midst of February, here we have for you a handful of photos showing a built model. The first stage in the making of the 1/72 Bugatti 100 Racer moulds has been achieved - the moulding block fitted to the injection machine to produce a batch of the very first test shots. Now we of course need to get rid of the occasional trouble spots in the moulds, polish the surface of the cavities but still, we hope you might like the tiny blue Bugatti even now as it already is. Yes, we do, too. And the two very last images show the resin items master patterns.
