The Special Hobby 1/32 I.A.R.81BoPi model kit is at the final preparations stage now. This dive bomber version was developed on the basis of the I.A.R.80 fighter plane and was fitted with a special hinged centreline bomb rack similar to that of the German Stuka. Smaller calibre bombs could be also carried beneath the wings on a standard type of racks. All the kit's components save for the wing sprues have already been finished, and only yesterday we began inject moulding the final sprues.   Besides these plastic parts, the model kit is to contain also a photo-etched details for the interior and also stabilizing fins for the bombs.   What is more, you can treat yourselves with two styles of resin cast mainwheels with different tread patterns. These wheels are available as separate CMK sets no. 129-Q32282 and 129-Q32283 .

To succeed during such type of engagement, a bomb displacement gear was fitted to the airframe's ventral section, in a fashion similar to the infamous German Ju-87 Stuka dive bomber aircraft. Needless to say, the BoPi variety of this indigenous Romanian plane design was successful.   The Special Hobby team have been busy recently preparing an extremely detailed replica of the BoPi in the still more popular 1/32 scale and the kit is due to be released in a two months' time, during this June. The kit is going to offer you two marking options wearing the early type three-colour camouflage scheme and another two airframes in the later, two-tone scheme. ...
