 One more of the 1/48 SH48160 Baltimore moulds has been tested, the parts on the sprue look nice...

Special Hobby team have for the first time tested the 1/48 Baltimore bomber moulds and the resulting sprue is here for you now. Even though some slight issues need to be addressed, in all we are quite happy with the results.😉

The team of Special Hobby makers are also working hard on the 1/48 Baltimore moulds, respectively on the fuselage moulding block. This is the so-called galvano-plated mould and you can see it in the images below just prior to being inserted into its moulding frame...

Well it may sometimes look as if there is no progress with some of already announce projects - which of course is not true at all. Let us give you today's photos as an example of our team still working. The pictures show the first test sprue made from the not-yet-polished moulds for our future 1/48 SH48160 Baltimore release. 

Behind the scenes - tool making

It has been long since we shared some ‘In the making’ sort of photos with you. Let us fix it now :-) So do take a short tour with us now through our tool shop. The images below show the 1/48 Cobra clear parts mould being worked on, then the electro-plated type of mould for the  1/48 Baltimore still waiting for some polishing and when it's done, the block is to be inserted in a metal frame. The final picture says we have already started cutting the metal for our upcoming 1/48 SF-260 series of kits.
