Mila Hraban has, in a record breaking time and and yet very nicely, finished this Special Hobby production big red bird. Arguably, no one would fail to notice the mighty Viggen bearing such colourful scheme if you had one in your display case.   Mila has built this model using our new correction sets for the canard foreplanes, for more on this item, read here .      

The 1/48 Viggen kit produced by Special Hobby in cooperation with Swedish Tarangus is no doubt very nice kit. Special Hobby offers the AJ-37 version in two different releases, one with standard camouflage schemes – model SH8148 , the other as a red anniversary Viggen SH48188 . The fighter version JA-37 has been produced for the Swedish partner. One of the very few things that the modeller might hold against our kit is somewhat incorrect shape of the canard foreplanes. To improve that, we have decided to produce a pair of correction resin sets. Yes, there will be two of them as the is a teeny difference between earlier JA-37, Sk-37 and SF-37 aircraft and more modern version of the JA-37, the former use canard foreplanes with only a single vortex generator on each, the latter have been fitted with doubled vortex generators on each of the foreplane. While red anniversary Viggen kit prepareations are still underway, the camouflage colour scheme has recently been finished

The anniversary Viggen kit decal sheet graphics which we have just revealed here is to be broken down to two sheets, one quite large while the other is of rather smallish proportions. The white colour sheet will comprise all the ghost cartoons and fuselage letterings, the latter twice as the words go also atop of the airbrakes which the modeller may intend to leave open or shut (for the open option, we advise to use flawlessly detailed CMK sets Q48220 SAAB 37 Viggen Air Brakes Set). The Show Must Go On decal with divided letters should be used with the open brake option and vice versa. The smaller sheet caters for all the colourful markings that the red Viggen had on its surface.  

Our graphic department is very busy now with the design of the decal sheet and camouflage scheme (well, not camouflage really, it´s an anniversary scheme) for our recent release of the Saab Viggen kit in 1/48 scale. The complete graphics is being created using our 3D software to assure a nice fit overall.  

Standa Hájek has been busy recently painting this vivid boxart for our anniversary scheme Viggen kit which is expected to reach the market early during this Spring.
