In the August issue of MPM Newsletter we are happy to bring you two new aviation models. The first one is the Fairey Fulmar in Hi-Tech boxing and the other is the AH-1Q/S helicopter in US and Turkish army guise. Our earlier-announced and a little bit delayed model of the Northrop N-3PB is also hitting hobby shops shelves just now, two different boxings are available which are SH72250 and SH72299. Another successful model has been also re-released and you will be able to use our special discount offer . So, let´s take a close look at those items:

Special Hobby plastic kits

SH48157 Fairey Fulmar Mk.I/II “Hi-Tech” 1/48
The Fulmar, although not having the finest performance, was the most successful Royal Navy fighter of the Second World War, at least in terms of the total tally. Our model of this important RN fighter plane comes with highly detailed resin parts for the pilot´s and navigator´s cockpit and with a fret of pre-painted photo-etched parts. The kit offers in total five camouflage schemes which were designed with invaluable help of renowned British aviation historian and also a modeller Tony O´Toole. All but one of those schemes depict machines from the Mediterranean with very peculiar camouflages typical for this theatre. The non-MTO machine was in fact fighting the Japanese from its Ceylon base. Although this particular machine has already been portrayed many times, the photographs kindly provided by Tony from his archives show that those attempts were almost always incorrect. The kit contains besides the already mentioned resin and PE parts also five sprues of grey plastic, a clear sprue and a decal set.
SH72283 AH-1Q/S Cobra US Army & Turkey 1/72
The very first version of the venerable Cobra helicopter, the AH-1G was primarily intended for army direct support. However, the Army command soon realised that dedicated anti-tank helicopters were gravely needed and thus the Q and S versions of the Cobra choppers were developed and also some of the earlier G version machines were upgraded to this new standard, although still having some components typical for the AH-1Gs. All these new versions were usualy armed with TOW guided anti-tank missiles.
The kit parts come in six grey styrene sprues and exhibit splendid detail throughout, fine recessed panel lines and riveting. The clear runner contains five-part "greenhouse" of the canopy which bring the modeller possibility to display the model with either closed or open cockpit and there are also other tiny clear parts which represent for example a searchlight or gun sight. The kit also contains a set of resin parts and all of the above bring you an opportunity to build true-to-scale replica of either Q or S version of AH-1 Cobra helicopter. The decal sheet caters for five machines, there are four US Army machines, two of which in Q standard and the other two in S standard and the last one is highly attractive Turkish aircraft in three-tone camouflage.

SH72308 HA-1112 M-1L Buchón “Ejército del Aire” 1/72
This is only a limiter re-release, so be sure not to miss an opportunity to order one.
The kit of the Spanish ground attack version of Buchón contains two frames with grey plastic parts, some of them including rockets and their racks are injected from the metal mould that was completely designed in 3D, frame with clear parts, highly detailed resin cast cannons and exhaust stacks and photo-etched parts. Buchóns in Spain served in two camouflage schemes standards. Initially it was the overall blue coat that was later replaced by aluminium dope on the upper surfaces and light blue coat on the lower ones. Decals included offer markings for three machines; two of them feature the standard camouflage scheme while the last one carries non standard field applied camouflage. The overall blue and the non-standard machine sport nicknames on the noses and the units’ badges.
