SH72454 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-1 ‘Lightly-Armed Emil’ - new Emil version boxart by Standa Hajek

 Just a couple of days ago, our fabulous Standa Hajek finished his latest masterpiece, the boxart painting for the upcoming SH72454 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-1 ‘Lightly-Armed Emil’ kit in 1/72 scale. The art depicts Bf 109E-1 Red 16 as flown by Oberleutnant Fritz Losigkeit of 2./JG26, who in the period of May to September 1940 downed five RAF aeroplanes. From July the next year until January 1942, he was working in Japan as a member of the military attache staff, doing comparative trial flights between a Bf 109E and its Japanese counterpart fighters. When he returned to Germany in ‘42, Losigkeit find himself flying combat missions again. He also rose in the ranks, becoming the CO of JG51 in 1944. In April 1945 he took over the command of JG77 and on 28 April, he was awarded the Knight's Cross. In total, he would have claimed 68 aerial victories, there are sources however claiming just 51 confirmed. Along with Losigkeit's Emil, there are three more eye-catching schemes in this box.

Dear business friends,     February is over, March is here and with it also comes our third newsletter of the year. If I can look back on February, it was quite atypical. While it wasn't snowing here in the Czech Republic, Russian fighter bombers were falling down over Ukraine. As a skiing lover, I hope for winters full of snow. Dear business friends,      The Nuremberg fair is over now. Despite some chaos in the organisation before the start of the fair, we can say we are quite satisfied with our participation and the fair itself. Compared to last year, the first post-covid year, the exhibitors were much more plentiful this year. Many more traders and distributors also arrived at the meeting. So we practically did not have the chance to stop for a while. This, of course, filled us with optimism as it was nice to meet you all in person. When I write about personal meetings, I was most impressed by meetings with colleagues from Ukrainian companies. War is terrible. It's one thing to watch it from the comfort of your home on TV news, and another to hear about personal experience with Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets.
