Bugatti 100 - 1940 Thompson Trophy Winner - a model built by Martin Pfeifer
In 1940, the Bugatti 100 broke the speed record as well as it won the Thompson Trophy, the most famous of American speed races, leaving all rival machines far, far behind. For the race, the previously all-blue Bugatti was re-painted in the French flag colours.
Well, nothing of this is obviously true, just a 'what-if' sort of game. However, the truth is that the Bugatti model (SH72457) wearing this colourful livery is a very eye-catching subject. Today's images, showing Martin Pfeifer's expertly built and finished model, were taken by Special Hobby's O.Hajek.
