Front and Rear Armament - Sets for the 1/48 B-26 Marauder by ICM

Image
During World War II, designers of medium bombers could take two paths. The first, the path of speed, was taken by designers at De Havilland with the Mosquito. The second path, the path of heavy defensive armament, was taken by more designers. Among them were the designers at Martin with their creation, the B-26 Marauder. For ICM’s Marauder kits released on Thursday, we prepared a series of sets some time ago, ranging from landing gear wheels and a propeller repair set to various gun stations. However, the tail gun turret and the boxes with fixed, forward-firing machine guns were missing. We have now rectified this, and you can find both sets among this month’s new releases. The tail gunner’s turret has catalog number 4516, and the machine gun pods have catalog number 4517 .

Box Art for Výra - SH72546 Fw 189A-1 1/72 by Standa Hájek

Today the mailman delivered a package containing a painting of a smoking Focke Wulf Fw 189A-1. The painting was created by Standa Hájek and will serve as the box art for the upcoming 1/72 scale kit SH72546 Focke Wulf Fw 189A ‘Owls over the Eastern Front’. The painting depicts a real-life situation: on July 14, 1942, aircraft 4E+JP made an emergency belly landing near Vasilyevka (now Vasylivka in Ukraine, occupied by Russia since 2022) due to a failure of the right engine. The crew escaped without injury.

Small but Tough Warrior - SH72537 AT-6 Texan ‘Little Warrior’ 1/72

Image
The American AT-6 Texan trainer could bare its teeth when necessary. Many air forces used Texans as light fighters or aerial spotters. The SH72537 kit offers you just such a tooth-baring Texan (and also one Harvard). The AT-6 Texan sprues from Academy will be supplemented with a new frame of clear parts and photo-etched parts, just as was the case with kits SH72447 and SH72450. However, the most important addition to the kit will be the underwing armament, printed on a 3D printer. Since each air force used different types of pylons and weapons, the selection will be truly extensive. The box itself shows exactly which markings and armament you’ll find in the kit.

Twin Machine Guns for the Hampden 1/48

During the Hampden’s service, its defensive armament was reinforced by mounting twin machine guns in the upper and lower gun positions. Our set 4514 offers a set of highly detailed 3D-printed weapons for this armament configuration. The set also includes spare magazines.

The upcoming SH72546 Focke Wulf Fw 189A ‘Owls over the Eastern Front’ 1/72 kit will feature four aircraft. Two will be in the colors of the original owner, the Luftwaffe; one will be a captured Soviet aircraft; and the last aircraft will be a post-war Royal Norwegian Air Force plane, decorated with drawings of half-liter beer mugs and named after a favorite pub of the aircrew.
