SH32064 F2A-1 in 32nd scale – finish details

Image
One of the June new releases is also going to be a limited re-issue of the first version of the F2A Buffalo naval fighter plane in 1/32 scale. The model will be available under catalogue number SH32064 and will offer the modeller with four, and I would say rather appealing, camouflage schemes...   and these are as follows: camo A F2A-1, 3-F-1, Bu.No. 1396, VF-3 (Fighter Squadron 3), USS Saratoga aircraft carrier, 1939. Flown by a VF-3 Commanding Officer  Lt/Cdr John Smith Thach. In 1942, Lt/Cdr Thach excelled during the famous Battle of Midway. By the end of WW2, he had been credited with six victories. Having pinned on his fourth star, he retired in 1967 as a full admiral. Bu.No.1396 machine was converted to F2A-2 version in May 1940, remained in service until 1943. camo B F2A-1, 3-F-17, Bu.No. 1389, VF-3, USS Saratoga, No.2  a/c in Section 6, 1939. Generally speaking, the tail colour indicates what aircraft carrier the plane was assigned to, the colo...

Because of increasing number of enquiries regarding the content of the 1/32 Special Hobby Tempest Mk.V Hi-Tech release, we have decided to feature in today´s blog a set of CAD rendered images of almost all the extra parts that this boxing is going to offer to the modeller. The only component missing today is the PE fret which remains to be designed still. So what the modeller may expect within this special release? In addition to the aforementioned etched parts, the Hi-Tech kit will also come with several exquisitely detailed resin components, these being the mainwheels (two styles), tailwheel, interior parts, both types of the gunsights utilised with this aircraft, and also HGW laser-cut microfiber seatbelts and a pre-cut set of canopy masks. As the model is approaching its release date at full steam, also the kit boxes adorned with stunning artwork are about to be printed...

Image
For both the 1/32 Special Hobby Tempest Mk.V models (SH32049 - standard release, SH32052 - Hi Tech release), the decal sheet artwork has already been designed. It has been broken up to several sheets, there are two sheets common to both releases, one of them with the national insignia, while the other caters for a full set of stencilling the Tempest carried both in its interior and on the exterior surface alike, and of special interest may be also the marking used on the drop fuel tank pylons. The fuselage code letters, serial numbers and other markings appropriate for each machine are offered in a sheet particular to either boxing. Model kit no SH32049 leaves the modeller with four decal options, the Hi Tech model no.SH32052 comes with five schemes. SH32049 Camouflage Options: Hawker Tempest Mk.V, NV969/SA-A, No.486 (NZ) Sqn.
