Garry Brant, an antipodean modeller, sent us a couple of very nice photographs of his recently built 1/48 scale CAC CA-9 Wirraway kit. His build depicts machine A20-496 / TM of No.23 Sqn RAAF as flown in 1943. As Garry writes, it makes him very happy that Special Hobby deal also with planes important for Australian war effort. Frankly, the pleasure is on our side, Garry and thanks a lot!

The June edition of Special Hobby newsletter is here and brings you among other items yet more detail sets for the new 1/32 Revell P-51D Mustang kit, including the main undercarriage and tailwheel legs made of special, heat hardened resin. There is plenty of items from the CMK range of resin sets too, let us mention several resin cast figures in various scales, starting with the British WW2 fighter pilot and ground crew (for the new Kittyhawk model) all the way through to the German WW1 artilleryman which will nicely accompany the 25cm schwerer Minenwerfer model. There are also three injection moulded plastic models, the 1/32 I.A.R.81 BoPi dive bomber and two 1/72 models, the Dornier Do-27, this time in civilian guise and the FH-1 Phantom, which took our team rather long time to finish. Vitor Costa, our Portuguese friend has rather expertly finished his second CASA model which wears this eye-catching anniversary livery and we are so very happy and proud to be able to showcase his fabulous model here on our blog. He used our CASA 212 Portuguese Tail Art kit (SH72376)  the model came off as nicely as Vitor's first one (see here)

Not only the re-released Special Hobby 1/72 ‘Home Fleet’ Fairey Barracuda kit (SH72306) , but most importantly also the brand new ‘Pacific Fleet’ Barracuda boxing (SH72343) are finally ready for you now. We have got all the needed components for both these kits, the packaging process has commenced so the first kits could expected in good hobby shops in just a couple of days. Yesterday we took some images of the Barracuda's box content and also a few behind the scenes shots from our packaging department to show you the results of Special Hobby team effort.

Besides the two Barracuda kits, one new and one re-issued, Special Hobby are releasing this May also the 1/72 Vampire Mk.I model, kit no. SH72339. We are so happy to announce that the decal sheets have arrived today from our Italian partners at Cartograf which means that we are finally ready now to begin packaging the kits and distribute them to our customers. As you can see, the decals are printed in Cartograf's usual top notch quality, what a sight for sore eyes!
