SH design studio visit

Despite the coronavirus crisis, Special Hobby team are busy making new products. The following couple of images illustrate well what is being worked on right now. While the Lone Wolf Viggen does not need any more words, the orange-ish colour, 3D-printed master patterns are the nucleus of our forthcoming sets for the 1/72 He 162 - jet engine plus armament bays and for the 1/48 Recon nose F-4-1 and F-5A conversion sets to be used with a P-38F/G kits. It springs to mind now, I have forgotten to mention and show the 1/48 Hawker Hunter flaps, okay, next time, bear with us….

   2023 holds several surprises for you up its sleeve and the very first one is here today, the 1/72 scale F-84F Thunderstreak. This swept wing jet, alongside its predecessor the F-84F Thunderjet (straight winged) is no doubt one of the symbols of the Cold War early stages. And also an iconit jet of the NATO defence alliance. The USAF operated their Thunderstreaks, also affectively known as Super Hogs, both in the USA and over Europe. In the UK, the 20th TBW USAF F-84F jets were also fitted with a special underwing rack that enabled them to carry and deliver a tactical nuke. Deliveries of the F-84F made the Europe's air forces, from the very north down to the southern NATO flank, much stronger and effective and the jet kept flying from mid 1950s up to the early 70s and with some forces even longer. Dear business friends,     February is over, March is here and with it also comes our third newsletter of the year. If I can look back on February, it was quite atypical. While it wasn't snowing here in the Czech Republic, Russian fighter bombers were falling down over Ukraine. As a skiing lover, I hope for winters full of snow. I also hope for a sky without Russian bombers over Ukraine. It would certainly be better if people in Ukraine could live in peace without Russian bombs and missiles. And also make models. Like ICM for example. Last month we offered you an interior set for the 1/35 AH-1G Cobra helicopter model kit by this company. In this newsletter you will find another set for this model and we are preparing more for the following months. The sets will combine resin cast parts with 3D-printed ones. News from Special Hobby 02/2024

Dear business friends,      The Nuremberg fair is over now. Despite some chaos in the organisation before the start of the fair, we can say we are quite satisfied with our participation and the fair itself. Compared to last year, the first post-covid year, the exhibitors were much more plentiful this year. Many more traders and distributors also arrived at the meeting. So we practically did not have the chance to stop for a while. This, of course, filled us with optimism as it was nice to meet you all in person. When I write about personal meetings, I was most impressed by meetings with colleagues from Ukrainian companies. War is terrible. It's one thing to watch it from the comfort of your home on TV news, and another to hear about personal experience with Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets. Working and creating kits in such conditions is extremely difficult. I hope that Ukraine will receive much more aid than it is receiving today and that European politicians
