Nuremberg Info No.3


Yet another Special Hobby project was revealed at the Nuremberg Fair this year and this is the 1/32 Westland Whirlwind Mk.I that has already been discussed for some time among the modeller community. At the fair, the kit´s main components were showcased, these being only pre-production resin copies as the moulds for the kit are currently being finished using a electro-plating technology.

In this year´s first issue of Modelar magazine the modellers could find a review of our 1/32 scale Škoda M.11 howitzer. This all resin kit was liked very much by the author and this makes us very happy of course. At the end of his article, the author put forward his wish that Special Hobby should go on producing such a range of kits. And of course, we are here to fulfil your wishes :-) so you may expect another type of WW1 heavy armament in the shape of 3D-designed M.98 howitzer in 1/35 scale.

Dear business friends,     February is over, March is here and with it also comes our third newsletter of the year. If I can look back on February, it was quite atypical. While it wasn't snowing here in the Czech Republic, Russian fighter bombers were falling down over Ukraine. As a skiing lover, I hope for winters full of snow. I also hope for a sky without Russian bombers over Ukraine. It would certainly be better if people in Ukraine could live in peace without Russian bombs and missiles. And also make models. Like ICM for example. Last month we offered you an interior set for the 1/35 AH-1G Cobra helicopter model kit by this company. In this newsletter you will find another set for this model and we are preparing more for the following months. The sets will combine resin cast parts with 3D-printed ones. News from Special Hobby 02/2024

Dear business friends,      The Nuremberg fair is over now. Despite some chaos in the organisation before the start of the fair, we can say we are quite satisfied with our participation and the fair itself. Compared to last year, the first post-covid year, the exhibitors were much more plentiful this year. Many more traders and distributors also arrived at the meeting. So we practically did not have the chance to stop for a while. This, of course, filled us with optimism as it was nice to meet you all in person. When I write about personal meetings, I was most impressed by meetings with colleagues from Ukrainian companies. War is terrible. It's one thing to watch it from the comfort of your home on TV news, and another to hear about personal experience with Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets. Working and creating kits in such conditions is extremely difficult. I hope that Ukraine will receive much more aid than it is receiving today and that European politicians
