Smaller and yet more powerful - or Perseus Mk.XII engine conversion set for Lysander Mk.II
To be released shortly is also a pair of conversion sets enabling the modeller to turn the new nad really nice 1/48 Airfix Lysander into the Mk.II variety that differed by the power plant which in that case was the sleeve-valved Perseus radial engine.
The first of the two sets, no 4497 offers not just the conversion parts themselves, but also brings a rather extensive pair of decal sheets catering for not less than four schemes of Mk.II Lizzies as operated in Europe (three of them) and also in Canada. The latter is also the very first Lizzie to be licence-built in Canada, machine s/n 416. (beware, nowadays displayed no.416 is based on Mk.III airframe)
The second of our sets to come will deal with even more interesting and colourful shemes of machines operated in Africa and Asia.
