News from Special Hobby 08/2025

Dear business friends,

Let me start by thanking you for your orders of last month’s releases, the sales of our Mosquito kits surpassed our expectations. At this pace, we will need to prepare a second release of SH72452 and SH72508, along with another reboxing. It will most likely bet he high-altitude fighter version Mosquito NF Mk.XV. Another upcoming release also features another plane from the De Havilland works, we are preparing a 1/72 kit DH.94 Moth Minor. But before that, we will welcome back our 1/32 Tempest Mk.V with new markings. In fall, there will also be a re-issue of the 1/32 MS 406 featuring a new Swiss version, D.3801. The 1/72 Fairey Battle Mk.I will commemorate the self sacrifice of British pilots in the battle for France in 1940.
In our  Planet Models line we plan to introduce the kit of another plane that took part in the fights in Western Europe, it will be a 1/48 Renard R.31 in resin, with 3D prints. There are other interesting projects in the works, but you will find a detailed description of our current releases down below, as always.

We look forward to your orders.

P-40E Warhawk ‘Tigers and Sharks’ 1/72

1/728595593132839

The American P-40 Warhawk fighter is one of the iconic types of World War II. The P-40E version was the first large-scale production version with the V-1710 F-series engine. In US Army colours, the fighter fought mostly on the Chinese, Indian, and Pacific battlefields. It was delivered to the Allies as the Kittyhawk Mk.IA. One of the very specific battlefields where this aircraft was deployed was the Aleutian Islands. There, American P-40Es and Canadian Kittyhawks had to contend not only with the Japanese enemy, but also with the unpredictable weather and natural conditions of the Aleutian Islands. Therefore, the P-40s were modified on this battlefield. The American ones were fitted with sealed exhausts and covered machine gun barrels, and the Canadian ones were fitted with a special antenna system.
Model of an American WWII fighter, the P-40E Warhawk version. Kit includes two frames of grey plastic parts, one frame of clear parts, alternative 3D parts of exhausts and antennas, and decals. The decals offer four machines, two American with tiger heads and two Canadian with shark mouths:

- Detailed and very accurate kit, most likely the best P40 kit in 1/72
- Very easy build
- Wide range of camouflage options
- Accurate decals
- We offer the mask M72015, figures, and a large number of sets to spruce up the kit further
